EGPI - European Golf Performance Institute
Improve your performance - Unlock your potential
Welcome to the Physiology section of the European Golf Performance Institute.
These pages are intended to offer help and advice in all areas of golf fitness and conditioning.
The European Golf Performance Institute is dedicated to delivering the most effective conditioning programmes and assisting coaches in the process of Physical Profiling.
In the fitness pages you can access information on several areas of fitness and conditioning. Members are welcome to contribute to these pages.
Most coaches will assess the players they work with technically at the beginning of a lesson or training programme. Indeed some will also asses some aspects of the player’s mental attitude, especially pre-shot routine and course management skills.
However, before now, very few will have assessed the player’s physical limitations and capabilities, and yet it is strongly argued that it is not possible to achieve the very best from your swing or produce a dynamic controlled movement, without understanding the body’s limitations, and available movement patterns.
The Swing Efficiency Programme is a 15 point assessment delivered by the coach to assess the relationship between the player’s body and the swing mechanics available, or the method required.
Following completion of the 15 point assessment the coach will better understand the physiology of the player and relate it to the level, intensity or type of coaching the player receives.
The development of your profiling skills is now available through the European Golf Performance Institute. We run a number of courses at different venues, training you to deliver the profiles and any corrective exercises needed.
Details of Physical Profiling Courses 1 and 2 are found in the Courses section of the website.
The Programme is also available to Individual players through the EGPI Player Assessment Days or direct on a one to one basis.
Contact the EGPI for details. admin@egpi.eu
The 15 point profile information is only available for those members who have signed up to the programme. In this section video clips of the profiles and how to complete them, along with a results sheet for on-line results submission can be found. To subscribe to this programme or for further information complete the enquiry email and a member of staff will get back to you.
